When using overseas FX, one of the most crucial factors to consider is the withdrawal method.

Most brokers offer convenient and quick deposit options, making them just as easy to use as domestic brokers. However, once you start making profits and your withdrawal amount exceeds your deposit, you may face challenges—such as higher fees, longer processing times, and limited withdrawal options—especially when transferring funds from an overseas broker to a domestic Japanese bank account.

Below, we’ll explain the withdrawal methods offered by VantageFX, with a special focus on options suitable for residents of Japan.

Withdrawal Methods

When you access the VantageFX client portal, you’ll find a “Funds” option in the navigation menu on the left-hand side.
Clicking on it will reveal the “Withdraw Funds” option, where you can initiate your withdrawal request.

From there, you can choose your preferred withdrawal method and follow the instructions to proceed with transferring your funds.

First, please click here.

Click Withdraw funds and you will be shown the withdrawal methods.

First, in terms of withdrawal priority, the amount you deposited using a credit or debit card can be withdrawn via the same method, but only up to the deposited amount.

For example, if you deposited 100,000 yen using a credit or debit card and made a profit of 200,000 yen, you can withdraw up to 100,000 yen via card as a refund. For the remaining amount, you’ll need to choose a different withdrawal method.

Currently, if you’ve already opened an account, you can withdraw funds using Bitwallet, SticPay, or virtual currencies like Bitcoin or Tether. However, since overseas bank transfers are too costly, it’s better to avoid them.

The cheapest and safest method is Bitwallet. If you have a SticPay account, that’s the second-best option. If you’re using virtual currencies, then Bitcoin or Tether are your next priorities.

Withdrawals to VISA credit cards and debit cards

To withdraw money by card, click the same way you did when depositing. A box will appear where you can enter the amount. Enter the amount you want to withdraw (up to the deposited amount) and press “Submit.”

You will then be asked to enter your credit card details. Fill in the information and click the “Deposit” button to complete the process.

Refunds usually take around 5 days to return, depending on your card company.

Withdrawal to bitwallet

To withdraw funds to bitwallet, click the button in the list and the above screen will appear. Enter the desired amount and click Submit.

You will then be redirected to your bitwallet account, where you can enter your bitwallet account number and click the transfer button to complete the transfer immediately. However, if you are transferring further to your domestic account, the transfer can be completed in up to four days with a fee of 824 yen.

Withdrawals to SticPay

If you already have a SticPay account and debit card, another option is to withdraw funds to this account.

It is possible to withdraw funds by card from domestic convenience store ATMs, but this is quite costly, so if you are looking for a cheaper method, bitwallet wins.

To withdraw money to SticPay, click on the SticPay icon from the list, and the withdrawal screen will appear. Enter the amount and the email address registered with your SticPay account, then click the “Submit” button.

You will be automatically redirected to the SticPay payment site. Fill in the required information and press the “Transfer” button to complete the withdrawal process.

How to send money to a Bitcoin account

To withdraw to Bitcoin, click on the Bitcoin icon from the list and the withdrawal screen will appear. Enter the amount and click “Submit.” A new window will open showing your unique Bitcoin wallet address.

Copy this address, log into your Bitcoin wallet, and transfer the specified amount to the given address. Once the transfer is complete, the withdrawal process is done.

Withdrawals via international remittance

The least recommended and most expensive method is withdrawing funds via international wire transfer.

Although VantageFX covers the sender’s remittance fees, the receiving bank’s administrative fees must be paid by the customer. For example, low-cost banks like Sony Bank may charge around 2,600 yen, but larger banks and regional institutions can charge over 4,000 yen. Therefore, it’s important to carefully consider the amount before choosing this method.

If you still wish to proceed, click on the relevant icon from the list. A form will appear where you can enter your receiving bank details—fill it in to continue.

Above, we have explained the available withdrawal methods for VantageFX.
